Lady Monarchs’results
The CMC Lady Monarchs U-12Agirls hockey team played to a 1-1 tie recently against the Biddeford, Maine, U-12 girls team. Ashley Liotti scored a shorthanded goal on a feed from Cassie Hunter. Jessica Beck and Kylie Pinsonneault played well on defense in front of the goal-tending duo of Sarah Chalifoux and Caitlin Re.

The Lady M’s defeated the Minuteman Lady Flames, 3-0. Tori Gamache, Courtney Popsie and Liotti tallied. Megan Kelly was tough at the blue line.

The Lady Monarchs team went 6-0, winning the 20th annual Connecticut Polar Bears Tournament from Dec. 27 to 30, in the U-12B division.

The locals faced the host Polar Bears in the final, winning in a shootout after forging a 1-1 tie through regulation. Liotti scored the lone goal for the Lady M’s; Popsie and Gamache earned the assists. There was no scoring through two five-minute overtime periods, then goaltender Re turned away all Polar Bear attempts in the shootout. Karlee Guzowski and Liotti scored in the shootout to secure the championship.

Chalifoux made several qual- ity saves while sharing netmind- ing duties with Re throughout the tournament. Hunter and Morgan Enos backchecked tire- lessly, setting up many scoring chances. Meridith Foote scored several pretty goals on end-to- end rushes. Allison Gonyea and Megan Kelly kept the front of the net clear, and Beck and Pinsonneault, while playing strong defensive games, managed to score goals in the tournament, including Beck’s first-ever tally.

The Ladies defeated the Dover U-14 Stars, 2-1, on Jan. 7. Gamache and Popsie scored. Gonyea earned an assist. Chalifoux and Re were strong again in net.

The New Hampshire Lady Monarchs U-14 team traveled to Holyoke, Mass., and came away with a 1-0 win over the Springfield Jr. Olympics U-14 girls recently. Just 18 seconds into the game, Lori Baldassara deposited an Allison Arnieri feed from behind the net for the lone score. Laura Testerman recorded the shutout in net behind strong efforts from defensemen Claire Ficaro, Fiona Clancy, Stephanie Peltak and Anne Dipastina.

The Lady M’s then fell, 4-2, to the Nashoba Valley U-16 team. After spotting the Nashoba girls a 2-0 lead in the first period. Sarahanne Cavolo made it 2-1 on assists from Jen Poulin and Testerman. Down 3-1, Alexandria Fouliard and Katerine Dipastina set up Samantha Hetzel to make it 3-2, but the locals came no closer.

Jr. Monarchs’results
In Jr. Monarchs House League action, The Pee Wee/Bantam/Midgets Black team fell to Gold, 9-3, then the Blue team also dropped a decision to Gold, 8-3.

Seth Miller, Chris Burdzy and Zach Mathieu each had two goals for the Gold team against Black. Andrew Morton, Stephen Lagos and Brendan Foley scored one each. James Coughlin earned the win in net.

Against Blue, Burdzy, Morton and Mathieu scored twice, while Seth Miller and Alex Lindahl also found the net. Lindahl, Morton, Michelle Berthiaume, Miller and Lagos earned assists. For the Blue team, Mike Langedin had a hat trick. Kimberly Latulippe and Jake McCabe earned assists.

In more-recent Tri-Town House League action, the Pee Wee/Bantam/Midgets Gold team defeated the Blue team, 6-3. For the Gold team, Miller netted a hat trick, Burdzy scored twice, and Mathieu also scored. Mathieu, Morton and Berthiaume had assists. For the Blue team, Cristofer King and John Nardini had unassisted goals. McCabe also scored, assisted by Colby Hoyle.

In the second game of the day, the White team defeated the Blue team, 7-5. Josh St. Laurent netted six goals, while Adam Carlin also found the net. St. Laurent, Cody Gladstone, Rachel Downie and Kevin Gallagher had assists. For the Blue squad, Nardini scored twice, and Matt Sweeney, McCabe and Zack Soares added one each. Hoyle had two helpers, while Jason Saidon and Travis Ksander each had one assist.

The Gold and Blue teams skated to a 5-5 tie recently. For the Blue team, Soares found the net twice, while Justin King, McCabe and Kevin Greene also tallied. Mike Langedin had two assists, and King, Nardini and Hoyle earned one apiece. For Gold, Lagos netted two tallies, and Burdzy, Miller and Mathieu also scored. Miller, Mathieu and Brendan Foley had assists.

Flames’results
The Fournier Trucking Inc. Pee Wee B Flames won their 11th straight, a 3-0 shutout over Nashua 2. It was the Flames’ third straight shutout. Tom Cowan and David Belanger shared time in net for the victory. Kevin Shaughnessy, Cam Williamson and Erik Glendye scored the goals. John Garrity, Glendye and Williamson had assists.

The Pee Wees had their 11-game winning streak snapped following a 4-1 loss to the Nashua Pee Wee minor team recently. Glendye scored the Flames’ lone goal in the third period, assisted by Ryan Lopes.

The Flames returned to their winning ways and beat Henniker’s Pee Wee A team, 3-2. Tom Cowan was spectacular in net, stopping all 12 first-period shots he faced. Glendye and Kody Kienia scored for a 2-0 lead. Belanger also played well in goal, splitting the duties with Cowan. Glendye scored the eventual game-winning goal. Lopes, Williamson and Kienia earned assists.

The Hate to Paint Pee Wee A Flames started off the Tier I Dual State season with a 7-0 win over the Grafton Lakers. Mac Myers and Kevin Turner scored twice, while Kyle Tracy, Steve Nguyen and Alex Murphy also tallied. Chris Straw, Murphy, Kyle Pratte, Jim O’Connor, Tracy and Joe Aubin had assists. JJ Solloway had to work for his shutout in net.

The Flames also defeated Reading, Mass., 5-1. Nguyen led the scoring with two goals while Mike Putney logged an assist. Josh Robidoux, Andrew Mathieu and Murphy also scored.

The Flames then fell to Concord/Carlisle, 6-2. Mathieu and O’Connor scored for the Flames, but a four-goal surge by Concord/Carlisle in the third period left the Flames too far behind.

The Flames edged Hanover, 2-1, in a Granite State defensive struggle. Robidoux set up both goals, one to Murphy in the second period and the second to O’Connor in the third. Devan Lemay also assisted on the game-winning goal.

Facing Concord, the Flames prevailed, 4-0. Myers, Straw, Tracy and O’Connor scored. Sean Burke, Mathieu and Robidoux set up the goals. Solloway added another shutout in net.

Hate to Paint came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the Nashua Selects, 2-2. Burke and Straw fed Myers for one goal, then Burke set up Robidoux for the tying goal. Both tallies came on the power play.

The Flames Pee Wee A team won the Jim Houston Hockey Tournament, beating the Wildcats, 3-0; the Huskies, 7-0; falling to the Maine Renegades, 3-2; beating the Wildcats again, 2-1; and avenging the earlier loss to Maine with a 2-1 win for the championship. Goalie JJ Solloway allowed just four goals in the five games.

Nguyen, Murphy and Josh Robideaux scored in the win over the Wildcats. Turner had two assists. Kyle Pratte and Josh Robideaux scored twice, and Murphy, Turner and Mac Myers also tallied against the Huskies. Tracy had three assists, and Myers, Pratte and Murphy also had helpers. Robideaux and Nguyen netted goals in the loss to Maine.

Robideaux scored both goals in the semis, with an assist going to Murphy. In the rematch with Maine for the title, Myers scored both goals, with assists from Sean Burke and Robideaux.

The first-place Rimmon Club Manchester Bantam C Flames edged the second-place New Hampshire Jr. Wildcats, 3-2, increasing their lead in the Granite State League. Jared Gantt, Kyle Sullivan and Peter Veillette scored the goals. Mike Bickford and Doug Steere set up Gantt, while Keith Pilotte and Sam Pelletier fed Sullivan. Jared Cox was strong in net for the victory.

The Flames Squirt A team shut out the ProAmbition Nashua Panthers, 3-0, recently. The first two goals were scored by Shane Tracy, one on an assist by Nathaniel O’Brien. Zach Sanford capped the scoring with an unassisted goal. Ryan Zarnowski made two nice poke checks on defense.

The BK Industrial Bantam A Flames beat New Hampshire East, 3-2, to capture the Jim Houston Christmas Tournament recently. The Flames went 5-0, including wins over the Jr. Wildcats, Maine Renegades, Jr. Monarchs and a pair over NH East.

Chris Tuttle and Scott Turgeon were solid in net throughout the tourney. Craig Ninteau, Tommy Wickham, Karl Ludwig and Kyle Lacerte were outstanding in the defensive zone. Jon St. Charles and Matt Zimmerman also contributed to the effort.

JB Mulvey led the team with six goals, and Rich Sodano added four. Barry Kendall, Kyle Morrill and Nate Chaput tallied three each, while Ninteau tallied twice. Lacerte, Kody Kelley, St. Charles and Zimmerman added one apiece. Mulvey dished five assists, while Kendall, Sodano, Ludwig and Kelley had three each. Chaput, Ninteau, St. Charles and Zimmerman had two helpers apiece, while Morrill and Wickham both had one.

The Bantam A Flames stretched their unbeaten streak to 19 games with a 4-2 win over Winchester in Dual State action. Tuttle was strong again in net, stopping 27 of 29 shots. Goals came from Sodano, Morrill, Kendall and Mulvey, with the assists from Ninteau, Brandon Hull, Kendall and Sodano.

The New England Freightways Inc. Squirt B Flames earned a win and a tie recently. In their 5-2 win over the Greater Lowell Hawks, Ethan Pollock scored twice, while Trevor Malmgren, James Collins and Scott Robidoux also tallied. Rutger Tupper, Collins, James Fournier and Pollock. Casey Anderson, Robbie Tuite and Alex Scanlon helped limit the Lowell attack to seven shots for the game. Netminder Jesse Bedard finished with five saves.

In a 3-3 tie with Methuen, Mass., Fournier scored on feeds Pollock and Collins, then tallied again on an unassisted goal for a 2-1 Flames’lead. After Methuen took a 3-2 lead in the third period, Ashley Anctil tied it up with two minutes remaining in the game on a feed from Pollock. Bedard finished with 10 saves, including one on a third-period breakaway.

Huskies’results
The Earley & Sons Forest Management Henniker Huskies lost to the Manchester Flames, 3-2, in a Granite State Pee Wee game. Sam Daley made 21 saves in goal. Jim Earley and Cody Cawthorn scored for the Huskies, while Dan Mulcahey and Peter Medvetz had assists.

The ARCOMM Communications Bantam A Henniker Huskies lost to the Nashua Panthers recently, 6-3. Two goals were netted by Zach Roever and one by Danny Fougere, who was assisted by Nick Badarracco Joel Hufault. The Huskies bounced back with a convincing 5-1 win over the Salem Saints. Matt Lennon scored twice, while Max Murray, Roever and Hufault also tallied. Conner St. George and Jacob Noyes played well, and Shelby Kuespert stopped 20 shots in net. Trainer Luke Roever kept the team sharp.

The Pats Peak Squirt A Henniker Huskies fell to Kearsarge, 5-4. Dylan Schlange scored for the Huskies on an assist from Cam Carter. Nathan Philbrick and Shane Earley each added assists on a hat trick by Keith Galli. The Squirt Ateam then lost to the Somersworth/Berwick Black Bears, 6-4. Galli and Carter notched assists on goals by David Bradley and Philbrick each. Earley notched two goals and an assist in the game.

The American Guardian Septic Squirt B team fell to the Nashua Panthers, 6-1. Hunter Goss scored the lone goal for the hardworking Squirts, while Curtis Frasier and Luke Shiels turned in strong performances. Kendra Barrasso and Kenny Thomas played well on defense. Miles Erikson was solid in goal. The Squirt B team then beat Lebanon, 3-1. Nate Kimball-Barr was tough in net, helped by strong defense from Jim Larson and Emmet Plourde. Goss, Zach Storro and Simon Hunter scored, while Frasier had two assists. Gunner Mose moved the puck very well. The Squirts fell to the Jr. Wildcats, 5-4. Frasier tallied twice, and Hunter and Tyler Raczkowski added one each. Mose added an assist. Spencer Baron, Anthony Pezzulo and Shiels also played aggressively. Barrasso and Thomas played tough defense in front of Kimball-Barr in net.

Henniker’s Mite A Edmunds Hardware Huskies held on for the 3-3 tie with rival Hanover recently. Defenseman Shayne Cashin scored on a breakaway and set up Garrett Thomas for the second goal. Colton McAllister scored a pretty unassisted goal. Keeper Jacob Cordeiro had 16 saves and was helped by the strong play of defensemen Alex Olson, Daniel Medvetz and Shea Coleman. Robbie Ferguson, Gianna Pezzullo and Cooper Bourque also played solid hockey throughout the contest.

The Hillsboro Ford U-14 Lady Huskies beat the Lady Monarchs U-12A team, 5-3. Morgan Seney led the scoring with two goals and an assist. Kelsey Muller and Abby Kessler each added a goal and an assist. Megan Kehr scored the fifth goal. Glenna Ledoux and Kyleigh Joseph also added assists in the game. The U-14 Lady Huskies also beat the U-14 Lady Nighthawks in Marlboro, Mass., in recent Baystate League play, 5-1. Seney had two goals and two assists, and Cara Jankowski tallied two goals and an assist. Muller added the fifth goal. Other assists in the game came from Ledoux, Zile Jones, Abby Kessler and Laurel Bauer.
