In Babe Ruth 2005 district and state tournaments, Goffstown 13-year-olds dominate at the dish

GOFFSTOWN . In postseason tournament play this year, Goffstown.s 13-yearold Babe Ruth all-star team has dominated the competition.

The team won all three of the District III tournament contests played at Allard Park by margins of 10 runs or more and pulled off a 10-run and nine-run win in the state tournament.

To win its district, Goffstown topped A.J. Laramie of Laconia, 14-4, in the first game. Next, the boys beat Kearsarge Mountain North, 25-0. To clinch the district title, Goffstown defeated Lamprey River, 11-1.

In the state tournament played at Londonderry .s LIFA facility, Goffstown registered victories against Portsmouth, 13-2, and Nashua, 11-2.

DISTRICT III
Goffstown 14 - A.J. Laramie 4
Mike Misiorski had two hits, scored two runs and knocked in two runs to lead Goffstown to a 14-4 win over A.J. Laramie in the team.s opening contest of the tournament.

Riley Palmer added two hits and four RBI, Michael Bisceglia scored three runs and Nick Nalette and Dante DiStaso scored two runs each.

Laramie jumped out to the early lead by scoring two runs in the top of the first, but Goffstown answered in its half of the inning with seven runs of its own.

After the first inning, Palmer settled down nicely on the mound, striking out seven and allowing only two more hits in five frames.

Goffstown 25 - Kearsarge 0
Palmer.s three hits and five runs scored led Goffstown.s offensive attack, as the locals plated eight runs in the second inning en route to a 25-0 win over Kearsarge.

Andy Gordon added three hits and four runs and Bisceglia added three hits and three runs.

Goffstown 11 - Lamprey River 1
Palmer, Nalette and Dante DiStaso scored two runs each in Goffstown.s 11-1 win over Lamprey River. Goffstown scored three runs in each of the first three innings to help build the comfortable cushion.

DiStaso allowed only one hit and fanned six in four innings of work to pick up the win on the mound for Goffstown.

STATE TOURNAMENT
Goffstown 13 - Portsmouth 2
DiStaso went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI to lead Goffstown to a 13-2 win over Portsmouth.

Goffstown scored four runs in the second and added five more in the third to seal the win.

Goffstown 11 - Nashua 2
Palmer pitched five innings of one-hit ball to lead Goffstown to an 11-2 win over Nashua.

Goffstown received RBI hits from Nalette, Misiorski and Bisceglia, scoring seven runs in the first to seal the win.
