One set of thieves has led police to another set of thieves in a robbery
from DHL last Christmas season.
A Goffstown man and a Hookett man are charged with burglarizing
DHL Worldwide Express’ warehouse in Londonderry in December. They face a
probable cause hearing and are currently being held on $250,000 cash bail.
Raymond Desroche, 30, of Hooksett, and John Johnson, 34, of
Goffstown, will appear at the Derry District Court
on Monday, Aug. 22, for a probable
cause hearing. They have been charged with burglary,
a Class A felony, which can carry a sentence of seven to 15 years if
convicted,
said Detective Tim
Jones of the Londonderry Police Department.
The two were arrested on July 10 after two Manchester
men were arrested in Milford, Conn., for
possession of jewelry and drugs.
Michael Tierney, 29, and Ryan Staples, 32,
were arrested in Connecticut after
being found in possession of $130,000 in jewelry,
most
of which were
identified as pieces stolen during
the DHL heist, said Jones.
He said the two Manchester men played
no role in the December
heist, but police believed they had robbed a
self-storage unit
where Desroche
and
Johnson had kept some of
the alleged stolen items.
“We were on (Desroche and Johnson’s) trail for a long time and were developing
a case against them,” said Jones. “We got a lucky break.”
Jones said the
two men
were also linked to other burglaries in other local jurisdictions.
Three
people
have been
arrested
for alleged involvement in the DHL heist, including
Desroche,
Johnson and Crystal Porch of Manchester, who was recently arrested
and charged
with
being
an accomplice to the burglary.
