GOFFSTOWN

Two officers added to Goffstown PD

By Rod Hansen
Staff Writer

Goffstown now has two new officers on the job, with the swearing in of Eric Sereno and Elyse Regan. Both were sworn in at a ceremony on Monday, July 10, and will begin their duties as Goffstown police officers on Monday, July 17.

Sereno, 25, said Goffstown is the perfect place for him to begin a career in police work: He’s a graduate of the Goffstown High School Class of 2000, and has lived in the area most of his life.

A former Goffstown Police Explorer and Air Force veteran, Sereno holds an associate’s degree in criminal justice from the Community College of the Air Force, located at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala. He currently lives in Manchester.

Sereno said he looks forward to serving in Goffstown and hopes to become a part of the department’s DARE program.

“I think it’s a good thing for young people to look up to police officers, and I’d like to serve as a role model,” Sereno said.

Regan, 23, is originally from North Andover, Mass., and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in politics from Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. She said she learned of the Goffstown Police Department because former police chief Stephen Monier is a friend of her family’s.

With law experience including the North Andover Police Explorers program and an internship with the U.S. Marshals office in Providence, R.I., Regan said police work has been a lifelong goal of hers.

“I’ve always wanted to be a cop,” she said. As a college athlete who played soccer and skied competitively, Regan said she also hopes to coach youth athletics.

Regan is also a resident of Manchester.
