Lady Monarchs’results

The New Hampshire Lady Monarchs U14 girls earned a 2-1 home win over Bay State Hockey League foe Seacoast Lightning U16 recently. Laura Testerman anchored the victory with a stellar performance in goal, along with strong defense from Claire Ficaro and Stephanie Peltak. Katerine Dipastina, assisted by Melissa Lehtinen, answered an early Lightning score midway through the first period to tie the game. Late in the third, Fiona Clancy set up Jen Poulin for the game-winning goal.

In a 5-0 win over Assabet Valley U14, Clancy set up Poulin for two first-period goals. Testerman earned the shutout, aided by Samantha Hetzel’s defensive efforts. Poulin added two more sandwiched around a Sarahanne Cavolo second-period tally, and Kelsey Kaiser notched a pair of assists, along with one each from Lori Baldassara, Peltak and Allison Arnieri.

The Lady M’s again handled Assabet Valley, 7-0, as Testerman earned another shutout with the help of Hetzel and Ficaro. Cavolo started the scoring, then Poulin scored twice. Cavolo scored again before Poulin tallied twice more. Peltak capped the scoring. Poulin, Baldassara and Arnieri earned assists.

The Catholic Medical Center Lady Monarch U12A girls hockey team defeated the Massachusetts Spitfires recently, 2-1. Courtney Popsie scored the first goal, assisted by Ashley Liotti. Cassie Hunter netted the game-winning tally on assists from Morgan Enos and Popsie. Jessica Beck provided solid defensive play in the win.

The CMC Lady Monarchs defeated the U12 girls ice hockey team from Biddeford, Maine, on Saturday, Oct. 16, 3-1. Popsie and Karlee Guzowski scored for the Lady M’s. Megan Kelly and Allison Gonyea played solid defense in front of keeper Sarah Chalifoux, who earned the win.

On Sunday, Oct. 17, the team defeated the Connecticut Northern Lights in Concord, Mass., 6-0. Popsie scored a hat trick. Enos, Meredith Foote, Liotti also tallied. Hunter, Kylie Pinsonneault and Beck all played strong games in the win.

Avs ’results

Netminders Matt Flynn and Jason Aguiar led the New Hampshire Avalanche Bantams to two wins over the Springfield, Mass., Indians, 5-0 and 6-1. Tyler Wilson scored the first Avs’ goal in the Northeast Metro Hockey League.

In Granite State League action, the Avs tied the tier-2 Manchester Flames “B” team, 3-3. Jeremy Lavoie scored first. Then Zack Steck netted two goals, including the tying tally.

In Metro action, the New England Moose fell to the Avs, 11-0. Mike Nocella and Derek Hansen’s back-checking efforts set the tone in the victory.

Wilson scored first in a 13-0 win over the Rochester Blackhawks “A” team. Dustin Correi scored five times. Aguiar earned the shutout in net and assisted on one of the goals.

Jr. Monarchs’results

The New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs Pee Wee minors defeated the Somersworth-Berwick Pee Wee 1 team, 6-2, behind a pair of goals from Nick Moore and Tyler Clarke each, as well as great defense by Taylor Warden and Adin Sobel. Stephen Devereaux and Aaron Gootee also tallied. Moore and Stephen Connell had assists.

The Pee Wee minors defeated the Manchester Flames, 4-2, with two goals from Devereaux, and single tallies from David Downie and Cody Reagan. Dylan Webster and Connell dished for assists. Warden and Sobel led the defense.

The Jr. M’s defeated the Jaguars, 6-0. Webster scored twice, while Downie, Derek Clark, Tyler Clark and Nick Pandelena also tallied. Chad Livingston and Brendan Garrett shared goaltending duties and the shutout.

The Pee Wee minors edged the Nashua PA Select Pee Wee minors, 2-1. Reagan and Downie scored. Jake Wiser had an assist. Wiser and Dan Foote played strong defense.

The New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs “AA” mixed Pee Wee team earned its first victory of the season, a 3-2 win against the Manchester Flames recently. Eric Aldrich scored twice, and Tanner Heath also tallied. Michael Quealy and Paul Hickey passed for assists.

Flames’ results

The Fournier Trucking Inc. Flames Pee Wee 2 team lost to the Jr. Monarchs Pee Wee 2 team, 4-2, despite two goals from Sam Swenson. Alex Desrosiers assisted on both scores. David Belanger faced all 28 shots and saved 24.

The Pee Wee 2 team fell to the Nashua Panthers, 2-0, despite fine goaltending from both Belanger and Tom Cowan.

Fournier Trucking was then edged by the Jr. Monarchs Pee Wee 3 team, 3-2. Cam Williamson scored on a feed from Kevin Shaughnessy. After the Jr. M’s scored three straight goals, Williamson again found the net on passes from Erik Glendye and Shaughnessy.

The Pee Wee 2 team tied Chelmsford, Mass., in a Dual State game, 5-5. Ethan Siemesz, Kody Kienia and Desrosiers scored the first three goals. Andrew Robillard then tallied twice, including the tying goal late in the game. Easton Dubois, Kienia, Jacob Valluzzi and Michael Ahern earned assists.

The Flames overcame a three-goal deficit against the Avalanche Pee Wee team, earning a 4-4 tie. Swenson, Ahern, Siemesz and Williamson – with just 26 seconds remaining in the contest – scored to forge the tie. Desrosiers, Kienia, Swenson and Glendye had assists. Belanger faced 13 shots, saving 11, and Tom Cowan faced eight and saved six in net.

The Hate to Paint Pee Wee “A” Flames swept all four games to win the MRYHA Columbus Day Tournament.

A 5-1 win over the New Hampshire Avalanche started the tournament with all five goals coming in the third period. Kyle Pratte scored twice, while Sean Burke, Alex Murphy and Mac Myers rounded out the scoring. Kevin Turner supplied two assists in the effort.

In the 4-0 win over the Maine Renegades, Myers and Burke scored again, with Josh Robidoux and Jim O’Connor adding to the mix. Devin Lemay, Steve Nguyen and Pratte added the assists, while JJ Solloway notched the shutout.

Moving on to Woburn, Mass., Robidoux scored twice, with Pratte and Chris Straw adding single tallies in the 4-2 win. Mike Putney and Andrew Mathieu logged the assists.

The Flames then faced Woburn again in the championship game, pulling away for the 5-1 championship victory. Woburn came out strong and Solloway faced a two-man breakaway, but played it perfectly to deny Woburn the first goal. Burke eventually crashed the net to pick up a rebound after Straw and Myers were rebuffed. Woburn struck back, and the score was tied at the end of the first period.

O’Connor put the Flames ahead when Lemay fed him a pass with four seconds left on a power play.

In the third period, Joe Aubin and Straw worked to set up Mathieu for a 3-1 lead. Lemay’s shot from the point was redirected by Murphy for the fourth goal. Murphy fed O’Connor for an empty-net goal to cap the scoring.
