Man stabbed in Epsom

22 Briarwood Drive on Sunday,
Dec. 5.
Brian Gove, 23, of
Hopkinton, was arrested after
stabbing Kenneth Hebert, 30, of
Allenstown.
Epsom police officer Joe Chaput responded to the call at approximately 9:20 p.m. Along the way, Chaput found a person matching Gove’s description on Lantern Lane, said. When Chaput went to apprehend him, Gove ran into the woods, said Preve.
“I heard a noise behind the house,” Chaput said. “I went to the back of the home and I saw the suspect and told him to stop.” A Chichester police officer arrived on the scene to assist Chaput in the apprehension of Gove. Gove was arrested on charges of first-degree assault, a Class A felony; criminal threatening and resisting arrest. Pittsfield police assisted at the scene of the stabbing. Hebert said Gove showed up where he wasn’t welcome and Hebert escorted him to the end of the driveway. “I turned around and he stabbed me in the back,” Hebert said. “I never met him before in my life.” Hebert was taken to Concord Hospital for his stab wounds. He suffered a stab wound to the neck, two stab wounds to the back, and one stab wound to the right hip area. He was released on Monday night, Dec. 6. On Tuesday, Dec. 14, Hebert said he is doing better, but he is still sore. “It will be awhile going back to work,” he said. He works in framing and concrete. Gove was taken to the Merrimack County House of Corrections in Boscawen. He was arraigned in the Concord District Court on Monday, Dec.
6, and is held on $53,500 cash
bail.
Aprobable cause hearing was
scheduled for Gove on Tuesday,
Dec. 14 at the Concord District
Court.
