Hooksett LL preps for 2005 baseball season
The Hooksett Little League has scheduled registration and information nights for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons.
The first registration is Tuesday, Jan. 25, in the Cawley Middle School cafeteria from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. The second is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 22, also in the Cawley cafeteria from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. The league will also take registrations online, at www.eteamz.com/ Hooksett, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18.
Registration fees are $50 per child, or $80 total for two or more children. There is a $5 discount off those prices if you register anytime through Feb. 21.
Eligibility is as follows: Baseball is open to anyone 5 to 12 years old as of July 31, 2005; softball is open to anyone 5 to 16 years old as of July 31, 2005.
Also, the league has set player evaluations for two Saturdays in March. For baseball, evaluations are March 12 at the Southern New Hampshire University gym. For softball, evaluations are March 19 at SNHU. Times for both evaluations have yet to be determined.
Baseball clinics are set as follows: hitting and fielding will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and 17, with Doyle Baseball. Pitching will take place Monday, April 25, with John Begonzi. Times for the clinics will be determined soon.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks, including coaching, concessions, umpiring, field day cleanup, opening day activities and fundraising.
