Hooksett girls take three wins

The Hooksett girls seventh- and eighth-grade travel team defeated a tough Londonderry squad, 49-41, at South School recently, overcoming an early 10-0 deficit with a 23-point second quarter.
Sam Walker had an outstanding game with 23 points, followed by Megan Cournoyer with 11 and Ali Duval with nine. Lindsay Johnson, Kaitlin Kennedy and Abby Johnson led the Hooksett girls defensively.

The girls followed up with two wins last weekend, 44-25 in Goffstown and 53-33 over host Milford.

In Goffstown, Walker poured in 16 points and Cournoyer added 10. Lindsay Johnson had another outstanding game with eight points and several key rebounds.

At Milford High School, Mel Bourgeois, Walker and Lindsay Johnson led the balanced scoring attack along with Krista Lucas and Ali Duval.

Third- and fourth-graders win two of three

Bedford A27 – Hooksett 24
Riley Cote scored 13 points and Tyler Gahara added another six, but Hooksett fell to the Bedford Adivision team. Tony Vasquez and Joshua Wilson each pulled down five rebounds for Hooksett. Wilson also led the team in assists. Sean Purcell scored six, and Max McKee, Ryan Toombs, and Clay Kirkpatrick added four each for Bedford A, who improved their record to 5-0.

Hooksett 27 – St. Catherine of Manchester 22
Hooksett improved to 5-2 as Cote netted eight points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Gahara contributed five points, while Rick Prindiville and Vasquez each added four markers. Jackson Kelley had 10 points and Jon Cullity added six for St. Catherine.

Hooksett 19 – Bedford B 6
Prindiville scored six points, and Matthew Paradis and Gahara added four each as Hooksett moved to 6-2 on the season. The team’s strong defensive effort was led by Connor Boucher under the basket and Tanner Walls on the perimeter. Drew Groves and Jacob Parker each pulled down four rebounds in the effort. Roger Larivee scored all six points for Bedford.
