Third- and fourth-grade boys drop regular-season finale
Windham 28 – Hooksett 17
Hooksett dropped its fourth game of the regular season to a much taller Windham team. The locals were led by six points from Riley Cote and five from Tyler Gahara. Tony Vasquez, Cote and Gahara pulled down most of the rebounds for Hooksett.
Windham Center John Grimmell led his team with 17 points.
With the loss, Hooksett finished the regular season with a 10-4 record. The team was set to start a round robin playoff tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 9, with a game against Londonderry.
Seventh- and eighth-grade girls travel for two victories
The Hooksett girls seventh- and eighth-grade travel team earned a big win in Windham recently, 54-46. Sam Walker’s 14 points led the way. Mel Bourgeois and Lindsay Johnson added 11 each and Megan Cournoyer netted nine. Ali Duval had two key hoops down the stretch to ice the win.
The team also roughed up Amherst, 48-38, opening a big lead, then holding off a second-half charge to win going away. Walker poured in 20 points. Lindsay Johnson scored 11 points and grabbed several key rebounds. Defensively, Krista Lucas, Bourgeois and Abby Johnson played well for the locals.
Suncook Little League sets registration dates
PEMBROKE – Registration for Suncook Little League’s 2005 season will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sign-ups will take place at Pembroke Town Hall this year, not Allenstown Town Hall as in the past.
Children ages 5 to 18 who live in Pembroke, Allenstown or Epsom are eligible to enroll to play baseball or softball. Registration is required even if a child played previously.
At least one parent or legal guardian must be present, with proof of residence, and a copy of the child’s birth certificate.

Youngsville Junior Baseball offers sign-ups in Manchester
MANCHESTER– Youngsville Junior Baseball will hold baseball sign-ups at the Weston School on Hanover Street in Manchester on three Thursdays – Feb. 17, March 10 and March 17 – from 6 to 8:30 p.m., as well as Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All 4- to 12-year-olds of team age by Aug. 1, 2005, are welcome to register.
Applications will be available at www.graniteheat.org beginning Jan. 31. Games are played in Auburn at the Youngsville Junior Baseball Park across from Lake Massabesic. For more information, call 627-4820.
