Youngsville Junior Baseball offers registration dates

MANCHESTER – Youngsville Junior Baseball will hold baseball sign-ups at the Weston School on Hanover Street in Manchester on two Thursdays – March 10 and March 17 – from 6 to 8:30 p.m., as well as Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All 4- to 12-year-olds of team age by Aug. 1, 2005 are welcome to register.

Applications will be available at www.graniteheat.org beginning Jan. 31. Games are played in Auburn at the Youngsville Junior Baseball Park across from Lake Massabesic. For more information, call 627-4820.

HYAA sets soccer sign-up dates

HOOKSETT – The Hooksett Youth Athletic Association has planned sign-ups for its recreation- and travel-soccer programs on March 7, 16 and 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cawley School cafeteria.

The registration fee is $55 per player, with discounts available for additional players. All 6- to 18-year-old boys and girls, as well as 5-year-olds entering kindergarten, are welcome to sign up.

Travel team tryouts will take place at Tri Town Field from 6 to 7:30 p.m. U10 girls and boys meet May 31. U11 girls and boys meet June 1. U12s meet June 2. U13s meet June 3. U14s meet June 4.

All players are strongly encouraged to try out, and all positions are available. Extra fees may apply for travel soccer.

Coaches and sponsors are needed. See Derick Aumann on any of the registration nights.

Auburn LL registration available

AUBURN – Auburn Little League is accepting registrations for any tee-ball, baseball or softball players 5 to 16 years of age. The age cutoff is July 31, 2005.

Registration can be done by mailing your completed form to Auburn Little League, PO Box 85, Auburn, NH 03032. You can also visit www.eteamz.com/auburnlittleleague to sign up.

Volunteers are needed for umpiring, managing and coaching. If interested, contact Bob Tuite at 483-0361.

PFOF meeting is March 29

PEMBROKE – The next meeting of the Pembroke Friends of Football will be on March 29 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at Pembroke Academy. Parents of all current players are encouraged to attend, as well as parents of incoming freshmen.

Middle school football program in the works for Pembroke

PEMBROKE – The Pembroke Friends of Football will be sponsoring a seventh- and eighth-grade middle school football program for the upcoming fall season.

The team is looking to join the Snowbelt League, which includes teams from Merrimack Valley, Gilford, Weare, Bow, Newfound and surrounding towns. Anyone with children interested in playing should contact the athletics director’s office at Pembroke Academy at 485-7881.

The team is also looking for individuals interested in coaching.

Hornets seek ASA softballers

BEDFORD – The Bedford Hornets ASA softball club has positional openings for talented softball players on its 12-and-under team, as well as pitching spots on its 14-and-under team.

The Hornets focus on providing a fun, positive learning environment while playing and/or practicing year-round.

Suncook Babe Ruth sets sign-ups

PEMBROKE – Suncook Babe Ruth will offer registration for its baseball and softball programs on Wednesday, March 9; Monday, March 14; and Wednesday, March 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Pembroke Town Hall.

Any Allenstown, Pembroke or Epsom boy between 13 and 15 is eligible to play baseball. Any Allenstown, Pembroke, Epsom or Chichester girl between 15 and 17 is eligible to play softball. Babe Ruth teams do not conflict with school teams. Play begins in May, and travel to nearby towns is required.

At least one parent or legal guardian must be present at the registration.

The fee is $85 and a copy of the birth certificate is required.

Also, any adult interested in managing, coaching or umpiring is encouraged to attend the sign-up. For details, contact Rick Demchak at 485-7871 or 315-3188 in the evening, or call Keith Mitchell at 224-0001.

HYAA elections are March 8

HOOKSETT – The Hooksett Youth Athletic Association will be holding its annual meeting and elections on Tuesday, March 8, at Cawley Middle School, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the teacher’s lunch room. Any Hooksett resident 18 or older can become an HYAA member and vote.

The board of directors has nominated the following candidates for the two-year posts, except where noted:
