St. A, SNHU dance

The neighborhood’s
two Division II college
basketball teams will get a
chance to dance at the NCAA
Northeast Regional, which takes
place March 12, 13 and 15.
St. Anselm and Southern New
Hampshire University will have
an opportunity to reach the Elite
Eight with three straight wins.
The No. 2 seed following its
79-74 win over Bentley in the
Northeast-10 Tournament final,
St. A, 24-6, will battle 23-7
Bloomfield College of New
Jersey in the opening round.
Across town, SNHU earned
its third straight trip to the
regional. The fourth-seeeded
Penmen, 22-7, will face fifthseeded
College of Saint Rose,
21-8, for an opportunity to meet
the winner of the matchup
between top-seeded Bentley and
eighth-seeded Queens College.
The NE-10’s 15 schools posted
a 54-23 non-conference mark
this season. As a result of its
strong performance, the conference
was rewarded with five of
the eight Northeast Regional
tournament spots.
Bryant College joins St. A,
SNHU, Bentley and the College
of Saint Rose as NE-10 representatives.
