Two get jail time for Candia burglaries
By Nathan Duke
Staff Writer
Two men involved in two
separate Candia burglaries have
been sentenced to prison terms.
Joey Labonville, 30, and
Nacasio Bantolino, 23, have
both been sentenced to prison
terms for burglaries they performed
separately in 2001 and
2003, respectively.
Bantolino was one of several
men involved in a burglary at
369 Chester Turnpike in Candia
on Sept. 2, 2003. Jewelry, a
radio and binoculars were stolen
from the home.
At the time of the burglary,
Bantolino, who originally hails
from Massachusetts, was living
at 114 Lake Ave. in Manchester.
Police Chief Mike McGillen
said Bantolino was charged with
knowingly retaining property in
excess of $1,000.
On March 25, Bantolino
pleaded guilty to the burglary
charges and was given a two- to
four-year sentence and forced to
pay $226 in restitution.
Bantolino has an extensive
criminal record and is currently
serving a sentence in Massachusetts,
said McGillen.
Dustin Hoffman, 24, pleaded
guilty to his involvement in the
same burglary on Nov. 23, 2004.
At the time of the burglary, he
was living in Manchester. He
was given a two-and-a-half- to
five-year sentence.
Joey Labonville was also sentenced
to three to six years for
his involvement in the burglary
of Stubby's Restaurant in Candia
in 2001. He pleaded guilty to the
burglary on April 1.
Labonville stole less than $100
from the register at Stubby's
during the burglary, said McGillen.
However, the burglary was
not Labonville's first offense.
"He has a long history of burglary
and theft - a serious criminal
record," said McGillen.
Manchester police helped
catch Labonville, who had taken
part in a number of burglaries
around the greater Manchester
area at the time of his arrest at a
Merrimack break-in.
McGillen said Labonville has
to pay restitution to Stubby's
Restaurant through the Department
of Corrections as well as
serving time at New Hampshire
State Prison.
