Candia Gifted and talented program gets face lift at Moore School
“The Different Talents” program at Moore School has a new face and a new focus. The new program, Minds in Motion, will focus on high academic achievement and schoolwide enrichment. The Gifted and Talented Revision Project is well underway. Intense work by a dedicated committee made up of of administrators, teaching staff, a parent and two consultants, has already been completed on project design built on curriculum connections already in place. Phase One will focus on mathematics in grades 3 to 5 with additional plans for language arts at the Middle School level to be developed later. The start date for implementation of Phase One is set for Nov. 1. Judi Lindsey, who has spearheaded the project in conjunction with consultants from Active Learning Systems, will begin working with students, providing opportunities in the form of direct instruction, rigorous instruction strategies and appropriate peer grouping. For more information about this new program, call the school at 483-2251.
