![]() Organizations throughout Candia celebrated the annual Lights on the Hill event Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11. The clear and cool weather was perfect for the event as residents and onlookers toured the numerous venues. Among the events were a Christmas store, bakery, several concerts, face painting, puppet show, dance and chorus recitals a camp fire and live animals. Child-stalking reports trigger investigationTwo apparent instances of child stalking in six days have triggered a joint investigation by Pembroke and Allenstown police. Lt. Scott Lane of the Pembroke Police Department said the first incident took place on Thursday, Dec. 1, and involved a 10-year-old boy walking to the Three Rivers School.
Teen lucky to survive fiery car crashA 17-year-old from Chester was lucky to escape his burning car alive, said Auburn Fire Chief Bruce Phillips. The teen lost control of his car on Manchester Road by Severance Beach, said Phillips, shearing a pole and bringing electrical wires down on the car. The car caught fire as the electricity made contact.
State weighs dropout ageAt a recent Kiwanis Club of Hooksett meeting, volunteers from throughout the community gathered to reflect on the year's progress, and, in doing so, helped raise money to make more progress possible.
